First Methodist Music

"Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
- Ephesians 5:19-20

Choir

We love our Choir! The First Methodist Choir helps lead the 11:15am traditional worship service. They treasure the old hymns, yet also embrace newer versions of everyone's favorites. The Choir combines with a community orchestra to lead musical "Cantatas" during some of the church's most sacred seasons.

Rehearsals: Wednesday Nights, 6:45pm in the Choir Room

Contemporary Worship

Our Contemporary Worship Band is a combination of paid staff and volunteers. Every Sunday they help lead the 8:45am service with modern worship songs and instruments.

Rehearsals: 7:30am every Sunday morning before worship

Historic "Firebells"

When First Methodist burned to the ground in 1995, our church's handbells remained intact. It was shortly after that when our handbell choir became known as "The Firebells." They play primarily in our traditional worship service and lead the music on a couple Sundays each year.

Rehearsals: 5-6pm Wednesdays in the Bell Room

Special Music

In addition to our seasonal Cantatas, First Methodist Music performs special music throughout the year celebrating patriotic days, inviting the community to hear sacred music, even participating in our church's annual Vacation Bible School. Music Director Garry Kesler is also plugged into various musical communities in the Highland Lakes, so he enjoys inviting special guests to sing and play for our worship and special events.
