Revival on Wednesday Nights

Happy Wednesday! The kids are back in school, Starbucks has pumpkin spice lattes once again, and I even know some people who have started playing Christmas music. But what am I most excited about this fall? Wednesday Night Church. It’s back with a lot of new programming, and it starts TONIGHT.
For these next several weeks we’re going to be talking about courage: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9 I
f I’m honest, this verse reminds me of the often-repeated platitude, “God will never give you more than you can handle,” which people also sometimes think is in Scripture … but it's not. What we actually see in Scripture is that God regularly calls people to more than they can handle or accomplish on their own, only to show His divine power and wisdom helping them do what He has called them to. So as we talk about courage, let’s think more along the lines of, “God will never give you more than HE can handle.”
We serve a God who is mighty enough to work through our weakness and produce great strength. This is the source of our courage - not a God who prevents challenges, but One who works through them to show His Greatness.
See you there!
