Learning the Language of the Holy Spirit

Bonjour, l’Église!

If you were with us in worship last Sunday, you heard me talking about how hard it is for me to learn a new language. And when it comes to faith, a LOT of us have a hard time “learning the language” of the Holy Spirit. We want to connect with God, but we can’t really figure out how it all “works.” Well, I hope since Sunday you’ve been working on your “language lessons” with the Holy Spirit – you know, kinda just doing the hard part of sitting down to try and work at it. In case you need something to help you, I want to recommend two books: The Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster and After You Believe: Why Christian Character Matters by NT Wright. Spending time with God and learning to be "in tune" with the Holy Spirit is always good ...

Continuing our "THIS! Not That" sermon series this week, Pastor Allen will be talking about anxiety and how we can learn to better rely on God when we struggle in our minds. I hope to see you in worship. As we continue toward summer, take note of all the VBS talk because we’re getting ready for Vacation Bible School. If you have a child you want to sign up for an awesome week, registration is online at fmcmarblefalls.com/events. If you would like to volunteer and help make it an awesome week, you can sign up for that online too or get in contact with Holly Smith, our Children’s Ministries Director. We will also have some excellent elements of VBS coming up in worship for everyone on Sundays in June, so get ready.

And finally, as always, keep checking Sunday bulletins, the church website, and this mid-week e-newsletter so you don’t miss out on what’s happening at our church. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at the church office.
