How do we connect to the Holy Spirit?

Hello, Church!
If you were with us in worship on Sunday you heard me preach about just how “other worldly” our God is. I shared 3 reasons why I believe the world has a hard time connecting with the Holy Spirit:
1.) We need proof … which is often hard, if not impossible, to find. 2.) We like to have control … which we don’t really have. 3.) We love and desire comfort … which God gives, but not always in the ways we want.
As Christ followers, though, we have direct access to God’s Holy Spirit. Crazy, unbelievable, awesome things will happen when we let go of proof, control, and comfort and connect instead to the Holy Spirit.
So how do we do this?
I want to invite you one last time to this weekend’s Spirit and Truth Weekend – January 9-11. Matt Reynolds, an amazing Spirit-filled leader from Ohio, will be guiding us through some prayer exercises and faith-sharing practices at our church on Saturday that will help us connect with the Holy Spirit in some powerful ways. We’ll also have (free!) lunch together that day and some time for worship on Friday night. On Sunday Matt will be our guest preacher in both our 8:45 and 11:15am worship services. Complete details to the weekend are here. Will you register and join us? Your pastors and staff hope you are having a great beginning to your new year. As 2026 gets underway let’s let go of the things that no longer serve us and connect to Christ so we can live life to the fullest.
I’ll see you Friday!
